Mindset Nugget: What can I control?

Life’s been throwing some curveballs lately? Well, one thing that's really helped me through the chaos is figuring out the difference between the stuff I can control and the stuff I can’t. Spoiler alert: trying to control the uncontrollable is like trying to herd cats—frustrating and impossible! So, instead of getting stuck in the emotional quicksand, I’m learning to step back, take a deep breath, and see things a little more clearly (or at least try to).

Of course, that’s easier said than done—especially when your brain’s having a meltdown and your emotions are running the show. But here’s the good news: when you start to get the hang of spotting what’s within your power and what’s not, life gets just a *little* bit less stressful.

So, how do you tell the difference? A simple trick is thinking "external vs. internal." Can you control other people's reactions? Nope. The weather? Forget it. Your partner or society? Not a chance. But what you can control is how you respond to all of that by changing your perspective. That’s where the magic happens.

If you’re into a little wisdom with your mindset makeover, there’s always the classic Serenity Prayer:

"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

If you feel like you need a little extra backup while figuring all this out, why not book a complimentary discovery call? We’ll chat, we’ll laugh and maybe cry and we’ll figure out how to navigate those uncontrollable moments together! 😊
